Transform Your Energy!

I used to be forever on the hunt for ways to create more energy. I would Google online, read countless books and articles, ask my colleagues in healthcare. Certainly, these things came in handy at times, but I ultimately found my own tried-and-true path to increasing my energy on a day-to-day basis. Along this journey down my path, I was reminded that we cannot create or destroy energy, only harness it.

Nikola Tesla is quoted as saying, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” Often times when we find ourselves low in energy, is because it has been expended somewhere else. The energy is not exhausted, it merely needs to be found, reclaimed and then channeled elsewhere.

I call my path my Energy Pyramid, because you start at the base, then build your way up. In other words, take care of essential needs like proper hydration, energy giving foods and supplements, then moving on to the next level after a proper foundation is established. I am still building! I hope you find the following tips for energy transformation helpful!

  • Sweat the big stuff! Obviously, you want to rule out a major physical health problem zapping your energy. Beyond that, I encourage you to evaluate your whole life! Take a holistic overview. Sometimes, there is one main thing in your life that needs a major overhaul. Until that happens, you can make other secondary changes that will make no significant difference and your energy until the dominating factor is addressed. Sometimes the big things like your significant other, your job, your over-commitment to activities, or your overall attitude about life may need an overhaul!

  • Don’t sweat the small stuff! Low energy is often caused by expenditure elsewhere, often burning mental energy. In this regard, meditation and mindfulness strategies can be very effective.

  • Hydrate with WATER! Water is essential to life! If you are walking around chronically dehydrated, the efficacy of any vitamins, supplements, exercise is greatly reduced! I find that adding lemon to my water helps me naturally drink a lot more without the need to force myself to drink.

  • Green juices and smoothies are life! I find that these have the ability to super charge me with dense levels of nutrients that are quickly assimilated in my body. They also provide additional hydration which is always a plus.

  • Move your body in a healing way! Moving your body in a way that releases endorphins contributes greatly to high energy. Once you made the changes we just discussed, you will find the energy to want to move! This, in turn, promotes even more vibrancy. Objects in motion tend to stay in motion! Things like dance, basic stretching, calisthenics, yoga, kayaking, cardio- do whatever floats your boat!

  • Seek opportunities to eat quality food that creates more energy!

  • Seek out social support! Inspiring people and organizations tend to pull you along when you may not be able to push yourself. As the African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together”.

  • Pick a small goal and achieve it daily! Motivation creates momentum, and momentum is energy!

  • Make time to create beauty inside and outside of yourself. Make time for self care, whatever that means to you in that moment! For me, as the mother of a toddler, sometimes that means being showered with clean clothes! Create a neat, calming environment that is uniquely “you” wherever possible, both at home AND at work. Looking good and having pleasant surroundings helps you to feel good, and that “feel-good” vibe can help power you through your day!

  • Celebrate your life and your achievements as well as the life and achievements of others daily! This includes the small victories too. Gratefulness is electric!
